Rail Sim Routes UK
[Not all features in the BVE 4 compatible routes are available to BVE 2 users. Partial openBVE compatibility]
Updated to version 1.31, Cross-City South is fully BVE v4 compatible, and upgraded with new features such as full support for working AWS and TPWS, improved signalling with randomisation, authentic track and updated flange sounds, and new Autumn 2004 and Spring 2005 routes. The route now features a new photo-realistic catenary system including full 3D masts, headspans and gantries - modelled features include switching overlaps, anchor spans, section insulators, and return conductor system including booster transformers. The route now uses BVE v4's new directional lighting capabilities to recreate a more immersive dawn and dusk environment, and also uses the capabilities of the .X object format to create new illuminated objects such as lamp posts, station lights, headlights and signal aspects. Other features include realistic 323 wheel slip effects, photo-realistic skies, and the Barnt Green anti-flange squeal sprinkler system. Version 1.31 provides improved support for openBVE v0.6, and the lifting of copyright restrictions on many (but not all) files.

The new BVE v4 class 323 EMU developed by Steve Green, Simon Gathercole and myself brings a host of new features to the Cross-City - new fully authentic Cross-City flange sounds optimised for BVE v4, fully simulated AWS and TPWS, DRA, working windscreen wipers, pantograph up/down button, working guards buzzer and headlight selector switches.
