Copyright Statement
 |
This website, including all files, images, downloads, interface elements and text
are copyright (c) Anthony Bowden, 2001-2007, unless otherwise stated.
Downloads available from this site are available for your own
personal and private use only, unless otherwise stated by a particular download
link or in a particular "Readme". With the exception of the downloads which are
hosted in the Miscellaneous Files or
BVE Object Collection sections of this site (see below),
you may not re-use, copy or redistribute any material from this website
or any of my downloads in your own projects, without
my express permission. This applies whether you intend to create add-ons
for BVE, or for any other purpose. If you wish to seek permission to use any of
my work, you can send me an e-mail via the Contact page,
and I'll be happy to assist you.
All text and images on this website are also subject to the copyright of their respective
authors if they state it, and you may not use any part of this website without permission.
All website interface images are custom designed and are
not free for use on your own website. If you wish to link to
Rail Sim Routes UK, then the banner can be used however! You can download
a banner here.
If you are unsure about any issues relating to copyright, or you are unsure about
the real meaning of terms such as "Freeware", "Public Domain", or "Open Source",
then please read the BVE Developer Guidelines, which explains these topics generally
and in a context suitable for BVE, and outlines what rights BVE developers may choose
to retain over their work, and why you need to be aware of such issues.

Guidance for obtaining permission to re-use my work, providing due credit
and
using my work in pre-release projects
 |
You need to contact me prior to re-using or redistributing
any work from within my downloads, unless otherwise indicated. Not all material
within the downloads on this site is created by me, and some material may be owned
by commercial companies and used by me, with their permission, so this is an additional
reason why you must ask me for permission to use material from my downloads first.
If you ask for permission but don't get a response from me, it's possible that
I never received your e-mail - please try resending your request again if you believe
this to be the case. Unless I actually respond to you and say "Yes", you should
assume that my response is in fact "No", until or unless I give you the go ahead.
If and only if you do receive permission
to re-use or redistribute material from within my downloads, you will need to do
the following:
- Clearly provide credits, including
my name and website
URL (or that of whoever the said material belongs to), a
brief description of what it is that's being used, and a
note saying that the material should not be redistributed without my approval.
All this information should be included in both your
Readme / Documentation, and on your website
or download page.
- For example, a credit might consist of: "With thanks
to Anthony Bowden (www.railsimroutes.co.uk) for permission to use certain scenery,
train objects and passing train sound files from his Cross-City South route. Please
contact Anthony Bowden for permission if you wish to use his material in your own
project."
- If you post screenshots of your project,
and any material provided by myself makes a visible
enhancement to your work, then I'd like a mention
at the time you publish those screenshots. For example, if you have created
a route and the scenery or backdrop in that screenshot is my work, then that scenery
or backdrop may be making a significant difference
to the appearance of your project, so I'd like some
ackowledgement for this contribution to your project.
If you are building a route or other BVE add-on,
and publicising it via screenshots or other media, but
have yet to ask me for permission to use my files in your unreleased work,
then mentioning the fact that my work is included (along with a brief note of what
is used) at the time you publicise your 'work in progress'
is strongly recommended - I won't mind you not asking me first under these circumstances,
but you should still contact me for permission before
you release your work to the public.

All downloads on this site are checked for viruses before being uploaded, and are also tested to ensure
they function appropriately (within reason), therefore I accept no responsibility

risk.
By using this website or downloading material from it, you are automatically agreeing

Full Terms and Conditions for usage of Rail Sim Routes UK Routes

The route packages are provided as freeware, however if you would like to re-distribute
any files from the route or associated train folders in your own project, then please read these
Terms and Conditions thoroughly, and then send me an e-mail to
seek permission first - I can be contacted via the
Contact page.
If you wish to modify any .CSV object, or any other type of file
from the route (or associated train) folders, you should ensure the original
author and copyright header is left intact at the
start of the file. Your name may also be added to the header to reflect
any work you have done with the object.
Finally, credit should be clearly given for any individual files or groups of files
which are used, in the form of my name and a link back to my website [www.railsimroutes.co.uk],
in any "Readme", and on any download page in a clear and easily accessible location.
You should also provide credit beside any screenshot or collection of screenshots
featuring significant portions of my work. For example, if you have created a route
and the scenery or backdrop in that screenshot is my work, then that scenery or
backdrop may be making a significant difference
to the appearance of your project, so I'd like some
ackowledgement for this contribution to your project.
Please also note, that these route and train combinations are freeware, however
no material contained within the route or train folders may be distributed on disk,
CD, or any other medium without my prior written
permission, and if permission is granted then all Readme HTML, GIF and TXT
files should be retained with the route in an
unmodified form. The material contained within
the route and train folders may not be sold at any price or for profit under any
circumstances.
Not all files contained within the routes on this site are my own work - some files
have been used with permission from other authors. To use these files permission
must be obtained from the original author if their contact details are present.
Please see the route documentation
for details of these specific files.
Anthony Bowden, October 2007.

Downloads within the Miscellaneous Files and BVE Object Collection
 |
The Rail Sim Routes UK Miscellaneous Files section,
contains files which have been contributed by other BVE developers, for use by end
users in their own routes and add-ons, and you don't need permission to use these
specific files, however you must credit those original author(s) for their work,
even if you modify their original files - by downloading them you automatically
accept this condition.
The Rail Sim Routes UK BVE Object Collection,
contains files I have made available for you to download and use within your own
route projects without having to ask my permission. Crediting me for the objects
will be a condition of use.
|
Modification of my work, and route add-ons
 |
If you are thinking of working on any enhancements for my routes, such as new textures,
additional route files, new activities and so-on, then please contact me to discuss
options before you begin work. I periodically update my routes, and you may be duplicating
work which I'm already undertaking, or working with files which are out of date.
Generally I don't allow my routes to be hosted elsewhere, however if you wish to
create additional activities or small enhancements you can create and host these
yourself, so long as your enhancement is an
add-on to my own route, and my own downloads are not duplicated on your
site. If your add-on alters an installed route, it will be your responsibility
to help users with technical support should it cause problems.
|
Hosting and download availability issues
 |
The routes built here at Rail Sim Routes UK
are exclusive to this site, and they may
not be hosted anywhere else under any
circumstances. Should problems with the site arise, or should problems be encountered
downloading my routes, then if necessary I will take care of any mirroring of files
or even a backup website myself.
